It’s no coincidence that “Gmiatli” is a Paznaun expression for “cozy.” Accommodations at s’Gmiatli provide all the comforts of home in the heart of the Austrian Alps. S’Gmiatli has three spacious and private apartments to choose from - the Adler Chalet, the Steinbock Lodge, and the Gams Lodge. 

 

Each s’Gmiatli apartment has two bedrooms, one luxury sofa bed, three bathrooms, and a private bio sauna. The apartments are between 110-130 m², providing plenty of space for families and small groups. Large windows and high ceilings make the apartments feel even more spacious and bright. 

 

Guests are provided with a fully equipped kitchen, fresh bed linens, towels, a covered parking area, coffee, bread roll service, and more, to make for an exceptionally comfortable stay. The apartments are luxuriously furnished and decorated in an urban rustic style to create warm and inviting spaces with stunning views of the Paznaun Valley just beyond the windows.

Each s’Gmiatli Apartment Hideaway comes with a well-appointed kitchen that is perfect for preparing your own meals and snacks. For breakfast you can easily scan a QR-Code and order bread from the local bakery. Be aware to do that before 9 pm so you get it the next day in the morning.

World-class dining is just a short trip away in Kappl and Ischgl. Visitors can choose from traditional Austrian fare or a wide selection of international cuisines at Kappl’s generous selection of restaurants, typical Austrian 'Wirtshäuser' and cafes. 

Whether you’re looking for a fine dining experience at a toque-awarded restaurant or a casual bite to eat at a charming pub, Kappl and Ischgl have something for every taste bud. Note that some restaurant hours of operation vary by season.

Winter activities

Winter is the peak season in Kappl as sports enthusiasts flock to the area for fun on Kappl’s 40 kilometers of slopes. In fact, Kappl and nearby Ischgl are among the four largest skiing destinations in the Paznaun Valley. Skiing season begins in mid-December and runs to mid-April.

Kappl is considered to be a family-friendly ski destination thanks to its ski schools for kids over three years old. Visitors can also enjoy other winter activities like snowshoeing, sledging, and wintertime mountain biking. 

For indoor fun, visit The Silvretta Therme for its relaxing spa, ice skating rink, modern fitness center, and conference rooms. 

 

Summer activities

Although Kappl is most popular for its winter sports, there’s still plenty for visitors to do during the warmer months. 

From July to September, local chefs from the area’s top restaurants participate in Culinary St. Jacob’s Way to create delicious and affordable dishes for the area’s ski lodges. Participants hike to each lodge and sample some of the region’s best food, National Geographic reported

Visitors can also embark on outdoor adventures including challenging mountain bike excursions, bouldering in the Tyrolean mountains, and afternoons cooling off in refreshing mountain lakes.
