Outside, a manicured private garden opens onto a 14-metre infinity pool that appears to dissolve into the rolling panorama of fields, olive groves and distant hills. Villa Castiglione Ugolino is an 11th-century hilltop castle set within the Tenuta di Murlo estate in northern Umbria, 20 minutes north of Perugia.
The property sleeps up to 20 guests across 10 king-size en-suite bedrooms: 6 in the main villa across ground, first and second-floor loft levels, and 4 in the separate guest house with its own living and dining rooms.
The private infinity pool measures 14 x 4 metres, is heatable on request, and overlooks the Tiber Valley and the estate's rolling hills.
A heated outdoor Jacuzzi is situated separately from the pool within the grounds, providing an additional space for relaxation.
The renovated annexed church of Santa Maria Maddalena — adorned with original hand-painted 13th-century frescoes — is available as a private event space for weddings and special occasions and can accommodate up to 55 guests.
