8 GUESTS | FROM 1000€ PER NIGHT

Set deep within the larch and spruce of Carinthia's Möll valley, the Forest Chalet is a 180-square-metre timber retreat that stands entirely alone, its clearing given over to forest on every side and its nearest company the animals of a small working farm. A swimming pond lies still against the tree line, a panoramic sauna looks straight into the trees, and a freestanding bath is drawn at floor-to-ceiling glass with the woodland filling the view. Part of the thirteenth-generation Landgut Moserhof estate, the chalet keeps riding stables, farm and restaurant within an easy walk yet holds them at a distance, wrapped in the resinous quiet of the pines.

The Signature
Highlights

  • Secluded, Yet Never Far — the deep quiet of a private clearing where no other chalet is in view, and, a short walk through the trees, the estate's stables, farm and restaurant waiting whenever the day calls for company or a table laid for dinner.

  • A Child's Dream — ponies to be led and horses to be brushed, cats threading between the barns, the swimming pond and the whole working farm turned into a single unfenced playground from breakfast until the light goes.

  • The Sound of Water — the steady wash of the Möll somewhere below the trees, a white noise that settles over the clearing and loosens the shoulders, carrying through the open windows long into the night.

  • Wellness in the Woods — a panoramic sauna, a natural swimming pond and an outdoor hot tub, all within steps of the door, set up so a sauna, a cold swim and a warm soak can run one into the next.

  • The Scent of Pine — the timber interior carries the smell of pine and spruce, known to settle the body into a deeper night's sleep.

  • The Freestanding Bath Tub  — positioned at floor-to-ceiling glass, looking straight out into the lush forest.

  • The Forest Chalet is a 180-square-metre luxury timber chalet set in secluded forest on the Landgut Moserhof estate near Penk, in the Möll valley of Carinthia, Austria.

  • The chalet stands in complete seclusion, surrounded by larch and spruce woodland with no neighbouring chalets in view.

  • The chalet suits families with children, who have the farm animals and the swimming pond at hand, as well as couples seeking a private romantic retreat, with the sauna, hot tub, freestanding forest-view bath and secluded setting to themselves.

  • A panoramic sauna is built into the chalet, with full-height glazing looking out into the forest.

  • A freestanding bath sits at floor-to-ceiling glass with an uninterrupted forest view.

  • An outdoor hot tub and a natural swimming pond lie within the grounds, alongside a spacious terrace for outdoor dining and relaxation.

  • The property includes its own mini-farm with animals, among them chickens whose eggs children can collect fresh each morning — a highlight of any family stay.

  • The estate's equestrian centre offers a riding school and guided trail rides through the surrounding mountains, alongside a farm zoo, water play and climbing activities that make it a paradise for children and teenagers.

  • Guided experiences include bread-baking in the wood oven with host Gerhild, farm days, fishing and hunting outings on the estate, and cooking from traditional Carinthian recipes.

  • The Möll valley setting gives direct access to hiking and year-round nature activities in the Hohe Tauern National Park, with the Mölltaler Glacier extending winter sports from autumn into early summer.

  • The National Park Carinthia Card is included with every stay, giving free entry to more than 100 attractions across Carinthia and the Hohe Tauern, including cable cars, boat trips, mountain roads, museums and swimming pools.

  • Dogs are welcome, dog houses, blankets and bowls on request, plus a dedicated dog adventure zone with a training area, private dog beach and forest bathing spot.

  • On-site beauty and health treatments can be arranged in advance, including cosmetic applications, manual therapy, acupuncture and medical treatments on selected days.

  • High-speed internet reaches throughout the estate, and the estate house serves as a central meeting point for dining and provisions.

  • The estate house and its restaurant, along with hiking, riding and farm life, are a short walk away within the Hohe Tauern region.
