Nestled within the walled gardens of the village of Paradou, between Fontvieille and Maussane-les-Alpilles, Le Mas de Castillone is a 1,000 m² Provençal mas of rare scale and character, its exposed-stone façade and deep arches framing a courtyard dominated by a 400-year-old plane tree of remarkable presence. Interiors combine original reclaimed beams, limewash walls and burnt poplar floors with carefully chosen furnishings — Pierre Frey silk weavings, copper bathtubs on lion's feet, artisan-made ceramics — across seven individually appointed en-suite bedrooms that together accommodate fourteen guests in considered comfort. The outdoor spaces match the ambition of the house: an 18-metre heated pool with a fully equipped pool house, a summer kitchen, tennis court, pétanque court and shaded dining areas spread across nine thousand square metres of private garden, while the spa, hammam and Technogym-equipped fitness room ensure there is no reason to leave before one is ready. Saint-Rémy-de-Provence is fifteen minutes away, Arles twenty, and the village itself begins at the gate — though with this much on offer, neither is any particular urgency.

Highlights
The 400-Year-Old Plane Tree — the oldest resident of Paradou, standing in the centre of the courtyard, wide enough to cast the entire terrace in shade from mid-morning onwards, with wrought-iron candelabras placed around its base.
Two Kitchens — a guest kitchen with a Lacanche gas stove, Gaggenau refrigerators and a dining table for fourteen, plus a fully independent professional kitchen for when a private chef is brought in; both are fully equipped and ready to use from arrival.
Seven Bedrooms, Seven Bathrooms — each room individually designed, with materials including burnt poplar floors, limewash walls, Pierre Frey silk weavings and signature statement pieces such as a copper lion's-foot bathtub, a freestanding black tub and marble sinks with antique bronze fixtures.
The Pool House Setup — Napoleon gas barbecue, ice machine, two fridges, Nespresso, a large dining table and a seating area, all beside an 18-metre heated salt-water pool with eight sunbeds; the full infrastructure for a day that stays outside.
Spa, Hammam and Gym — a bio sauna with light therapy, a hammam, a heated massage table in a dedicated treatment room, and a 48 m² air-conditioned gym with full Technogym equipment; all on-site, no booking required. The Village at the Gate — Paradou's shops, bars and restaurants are a few minutes' walk from the front door, with no car required; the kind of village access that most Provençal properties claim and few actually deliver.
Tennis, Pétanque, Pool — three things to argue about after lunch, all on-site: a full tennis court with equipment provided, a dedicated pétanque court, and eighteen metres of heated salt-water pool with sunbeds already out.
