Immersed in 3.5 hectares of manicured gardens in the heart of the Alpilles, Le Mas de Chabran is a property of great age and careful restraint: an 18th-century oil mill transformed over generations into a house of vaulted stone salons, antique furnishings, and contemporary works of art, where the original olive press still anchors the double living room beneath its soaring arches. Eight air-conditioned bedrooms, a heated pool set among ancient olive trees, a full spa floor, and a professional kitchen combine with daily breakfast service and an attentive house team to make this one of the Alpilles' most fully realised private houses.

Highlights
Breakfast Beneath the Pergola — The daily buffet arrives at the long oak table under the shade of the pergola: pastries from the village bakery, seasonal fruit from the garden's own harvest, artisanal cheeses and local jams set out on boards of raw wood, while the plane trees filter the morning light and the fountain's murmur carries through the garden.
The Mill that became a Salon — Standing at the centre of the double salon beneath the vaulted stone arches, the original 18th-century olive press remains exactly where it was installed when the building was first conceived as a mill, its iron and timber bulk a more arresting focal point than any commissioned artwork.
The Long Pool — The 16-by-6-metre salt-treated pool runs parallel to a long stone terrace bordered by clipped spheres of box and bursts of yellow flowering groundcover, with a single millstone resting at the water's edge and the white limestone ridge of the Alpilles visible above the tree line.
Chapel, Pond and Plane Trees — Across the 3.5 hectares of manicured grounds, the formal French garden gives way to open lawn, a lily pond with stone fountain, a working vegetable garden, and — at the far boundary — the small 18th-century chapel standing in the long grass of the meadow's edge, its door framed by the same dressed stone as the main house.
Chickens, Horses and open Meadow — Beyond the formal garden, where the grounds soften into meadow, the property's chickens move through the grass in unhurried circuits while the horses of the adjacent Académie Française Equestre are visible over the fence — a reminder that this is, at its foundation, an agricultural estate.
The Grand Salon — In the 170-square-metre double reception room, deep sofas and antique tables are arranged beneath stone vaults of considerable height, the original press standing at one end, a large portrait canvas on the facing wall, and the garden visible through arched windows on both sides — a room that registers its own age without announcing it.

Le Mas de Chabran is an 18th-century Provençal farmhouse of 1,350 m² set on 3.5 hectares of manicured French gardens in Maussane-les-Alpilles, at the foot of Les Baux-de-Provence in the Alpilles.
The property accommodates up to 16 guests across eight air-conditioned en-suite double bedrooms, ranging from 18 to 35 m², each finished with natural clay and lime plasters, natural-pigment wall treatments, and mattresses of horsehair, wool and latex.
The private heated pool measures 16 x 6 m, is salt-treated, heated to 29°C from May to September inclusive, and is secured by an electric shutter; a generous pool lounge with sunbeds, a pool bar, and an outdoor fireplace surrounds the terrace.
The ground floor encompasses a double vaulted salon of 170 m² with functioning fireplace and the original olive press, a 33 m² dining room, a 33 m² bar-library with leather and green velvet anise furnishings, and a 35 m² guest kitchen with black marble countertops, a central island seating eight, and a wine fridge stocked with local wines.
A fully equipped 19 m² professional kitchen with Smeg range, steam and traditional Miele ovens, and an ice machine is available for use by a resident chef, engageable on request.
The second floor houses a 145 m² gym and spa complex, comprising Technogym equipment, a bio-sauna with light therapy, a dedicated massage room with heated table, and a relaxation zone.
