Set within an immense privately-owned estate in the green heart of Umbria, Villa San Savino is a 14th-century farmhouse and adjoining chapel that once served as the spiritual centre of the estate — the place where, until the 1970s, the family and farmers of Murlo would gather for Sunday mass. Painstakingly restored in 2004 and thoughtfully refreshed in 2016, the villa today combines original stone walls, reclaimed terracotta floors and heavy timber beams with interiors of warm, layered elegance, creating a home that carries its history lightly. A private heated pool and heated outdoor cedar tub face out over a sweeping panorama of vine-clad valleys and forested hillsides, while a canopied wooden deck and multiple terraces extend the living space gently into the landscape. Add to this the full complement of the Murlo estate — its celebrated Il Caldaro restaurant, Orangerie bar, farm, 18-hole golf course and rich programme of experiences — and Villa San Savino emerges as a property of rare depth, as suited to complete seclusion as to the immersive exploration of one of central Italy's most rewarding regions.

Highlights
Dinner al Fresco — the courtyard, the deck, the poolside terrace: three different tables, three different lights, and a kitchen stocked well enough that the choice of where matters more than what.
Stone Walls in Summer — the farmhouse stays cool when the valley outside is at its hottest, the thick 14th-century walls doing quietly what no air conditioning unit could replicate.
Cooking Feels Different Here — the kitchen opens straight onto the garden, the farm shop is minutes away, a private chef is one call to the concierge, and the long table seats eight comfortably inside or out.
The Chapel Room — the vaulted ceiling, the old stone, the particular hush of a room that was a place of worship for seven centuries and has carried that quality undisturbed through every change of use since.
Completely Alone on 18,000 Acres — the estate is vast enough that privacy here is not a selling point but simply a fact, the woodland closing around the farmhouse on all sides with no effort required.
